shazam.

im not done yet. need to deal with a few odds n ends but this peugeot is pretty much there. i got white tackla grips sitting in the back but they are not going on until i decide whether i want front brakes or not.

wondering how i got that kind of spit shine on a vintage tailight? its glass.
40s pre-plastic tailight

did the math, its 700 bucks for a 70cc engine upgrade. screw that, im gonna sell this thing for a grand and get me a mb5 instead. dual exhausts, you like?

here, im gonna achieve maximum returns on minimum craftsmanship. i WAS gonna keep this thing until i realized what a waste of money this is if i can get a puch and do the same thing for way cheaper. better yet, i can buy a derbi gpr50 or a honda mb5 to a much better effect for the price. this is where i realize, maybe im not gonna have this professionally sand blasted (wire wheel and aircraft stripper), or have it spray gun clear coated (montana rattle can on bare metal. no primer) or get that awesome new cdi (stock points sanded and tuned with 800 grit sandpaper, new neck bearings (off an old peugeot bicycle- seems to fit), new rims old ones, rattle can engine enamel black), brooks saddle (just the luggage rack turned backwards), engine upgrade (just new rings and the head and cylinder painted black. the cylinder has a bad gash in it massive power loss im sure), new rear shocks (old ones, paint stripped, steel wooled then painted and clear coated) blah blah blah. im gonna sell this thing the second im done. asap.

archetypal white guys dont piss me off as much the "new-age" white guy who thinks growing cherry tomatoes in his indoor garden kit, liking sushi, and practicing yoga periodically with his asian girlfriend makes him worldy.
smug asshat.

america works in our best interest

but lets be honest with ourselves: this isnt a war. its a massacre.

If this is whats necessary to maintain our quality of life so be it but there has got to be a better way to go about this.

Norm Schureman

passed away yesterday night after a party. got in an argument with some guy who left, came back with a gun and shot him. the party goers attacked the shooter but norm didnt make it to the hospital in time.

i had him for three consecutive terms in different classes. hes been here forever. even taught the head of department for product when she was a student. real chill and practical guy. sad for his family. especially his kids.

a huge loss for everyone at artcenter indeed.

michael does it again! 200 dollar (running) moped

ive been posting alot of garage pics lately and i know its getting old but these bikes just keep on coming in. its kinda rampant.

i try to keep marcus and angela out of the pic but they are just there all the time, bombing photos. this blog is starting to look like theirs.

anyways, new kid on the block, ive been looking for a second moped cause riding alone just doesnt do it and marcus wanted one cause the peugeot kinda convinced him. if we have two, it also means the girls can ride the second one. I found this in Gardena for 500 but the guy was willing to knock off 300 if i trade him 2 RC cars and one RC plane... none of which i played with within the last year nor gave a shit about.
so yea. i present to you our (marcus and me) 1985 Honda AERO 50

whats great is that its got a variable transmission so it changes gears on its own and im not stuck with a single speed like i am with the peugeot. i could get a variable transmission for the peugeot but thats if i find another 200 burning a hole in my pocket...

Apple Valley

Simon found a 77 Yamaha DT400 2 stroke for 450 on friday and asked me if i could help him bring the bike back. i thought "of course" until i saw that it was in apple valley which is about 2.5 hours away. being that i am, after all, the most cost effective and quickest option, i struck a deal with him: $100 dollars will include me waking up 6a.m., pick up the bike by 9 a.m. barter, buy, bring it back. it includes my gas.

apple valley is in the middle of fucking nowhere.its one of those places you can see the curvature of the planet if you stare out into the distance. this whole town consists of one street. the road there was pretty scenic though.

she runs!

and THIS is finally happening. im gonna strip down the peugeot and start building it into a respectable looking moped. none of that hipster bullshit. just a clean, humble moped. might upgrade the motor though...

6 bike garage now. (if the moped counts)

what we've been doing.

we've been busy. viscom5 and 30 pages of development is not only a bitch, we have all been bitten by the motorcycle bug so now we have to spend the wee hours of the night scouring for parts and sniping bid, modifying and tuning, buying, selling, trading.
no cars in the garage now. the Pho/Davey/Quach garage is now strictly car-free.

dont ride your bike in the rain. hard lesson learned

this bullshit all over again.

its a budget garage set up. we have marcus's relatively comprehensive set of metric tools, my compressor and misc. lights, vinhs garage and particular habit of being particular about his garage (note the effort in being impeccably organized. its his house anyway). this tool chest is our most recent addition courtesy of craigslist ($80).
motorcycle lift wanted/coming soon.

philosophy homework

this is a lil bit of my philosophy mid term essay in reply to the question:
" What do you think george berkeley means by suggesting that the physical world is a collection of ideas within immaterial minds? could he be correct? how so, or why not?

here is a paragraph of my reply:

If Berkeley speculates correctly and our reality is shaped purely out of our collective minds, it will have to apply to how we relate to the other minds that we associate with. And if what we perceive of the mind next to us is just a perception of our mind and nothing more, then one can only conclude that the world as we know it depends on the individual alone and there is no such thing as “we”. Even if we carry perceptions that are identical to the other, it would not matter because the “other” is still our perception. Something we only know through our senses thus something we cannot place any trust in for sure. In essence, we are alone. To you, I do not really exist. To me, you do not exist. The at the furthest extremity of Berkeleys speculation, I am the only existence. Not my body, not my physical being, just the fact that I sense, just the fact that I can produce my ideas, is existing cause I cannot disprove myself, to myself, that I am nothing. It is a philosophical blackhole that consumes itself to the point where for all I know, I could be an insane singularity of existence and all that I know, all that I feel and am is just a figment of MY imagination. If that is true, I am God. You do not exist. This homework essay does not exist. And everything that happens against my will is only because my mind is bound by the chains of habit, repetition and adamant belief that there are consequences.

there are times where some people who are in a position where they ought to be smarter than you are just simply retarded cause they got lucky. whatever, i wouldnt give a flying fuck but when the things they do affect me, i wish i could transcend the law, reach across the continent grab them by the hair, tie them onto the wall, and tear off a piece of them, bit by bit using a vice grip from their limbs inwards. when its just a torso and their head, i would cover them in accelerant and pour cyanocrylate on them and in their frozen but conscious state, ill kick them into a pool full of piranhas.

i wish this on them PASSIONATELY.
assholes.
