did the math, its 700 bucks for a 70cc engine upgrade. screw that, im gonna sell this thing for a grand and get me a mb5 instead. dual exhausts, you like?

here, im gonna achieve maximum returns on minimum craftsmanship. i WAS gonna keep this thing until i realized what a waste of money this is if i can get a puch and do the same thing for way cheaper. better yet, i can buy a derbi gpr50 or a honda mb5 to a much better effect for the price. this is where i realize, maybe im not gonna have this professionally sand blasted (wire wheel and aircraft stripper), or have it spray gun clear coated (montana rattle can on bare metal. no primer) or get that awesome new cdi (stock points sanded and tuned with 800 grit sandpaper, new neck bearings (off an old peugeot bicycle- seems to fit), new rims old ones, rattle can engine enamel black), brooks saddle (just the luggage rack turned backwards), engine upgrade (just new rings and the head and cylinder painted black. the cylinder has a bad gash in it massive power loss im sure), new rear shocks (old ones, paint stripped, steel wooled then painted and clear coated) blah blah blah. im gonna sell this thing the second im done. asap.

passed away yesterday night after a party. got in an argument with some guy who left, came back with a gun and shot him. the party goers attacked the shooter but norm didnt make it to the hospital in time.

ive been posting alot of garage pics lately and i know its getting old but these bikes just keep on coming in. its kinda rampant.

i try to keep marcus and angela out of the pic but they are just there all the time, bombing photos. this blog is starting to look like theirs.

anyways, new kid on the block, ive been looking for a second moped cause riding alone just doesnt do it and marcus wanted one cause the peugeot kinda convinced him. if we have two, it also means the girls can ride the second one. I found this in Gardena for 500 but the guy was willing to knock off 300 if i trade him 2 RC cars and one RC plane... none of which i played with within the last year nor gave a shit about.

whats great is that its got a variable transmission so it changes gears on its own and im not stuck with a single speed like i am with the peugeot. i could get a variable transmission for the peugeot but thats if i find another 200 burning a hole in my pocket...

Simon found a 77 Yamaha DT400 2 stroke for 450 on friday and asked me if i could help him bring the bike back. i thought "of course" until i saw that it was in apple valley which is about 2.5 hours away. being that i am, after all, the most cost effective and quickest option, i struck a deal with him: $100 dollars will include me waking up 6a.m., pick up the bike by 9 a.m. barter, buy, bring it back. it includes my gas.

apple valley is in the middle of fucking nowhere.its one of those places you can see the curvature of the planet if you stare out into the distance. this whole town consists of one street. the road there was pretty scenic though.

i cut a deal with a guy in santa fe, i give him my amen, springers and all cept my seat and engine + my beloved 79 CB750

and in return, he will build a bobber for me with the engine i have. a pretty decent deal if you ask me.

especially cause he is doing this out of his shop which is mainly for hot rods but he does bikes too. mainly american iron but jap bikes on occasion. seemed pretty legit to me.

before the trade, he told me he would outright trade eye for an eye for parts, but then i saw that he ran a shop so i asked him how much it would be to have him chop my frame into a better stance. said 300 which sounds pretty good to me so i asked him a step further and in the end came to the idea that id outright give him my 750 and my amen+all the parts and he will give me his frame+ modify rebuild and paint a running bike for me using the 836cc engine i have sitting in the garage.

I've got an 11 year old son, in good shape and fairly muscular. Still, if it came down to it, I could take down about twenty of him before I'd be at risk. Fatigue would be my only limiting factor. Once I got into my groove, based on exertion I feel during racquetball and rugby games, I could probably last 60 to 80 minutes at children slamming pace before I started to falter. At one kiddo per 5 seconds on average, that's 12 per minute or 840 before my strength started to fail me. Of course, in racquetball and rugby games I'm not in a battle for my life; I would expect a massive adrenaline rush triggered by a real fight or flight situation. Theandrews 1969 CB125s. allegedly found in a grandmothers garage who decided to litterally shrink wrap the entire bike until her son came back home. dunno abut the son but theandrew found it and offered 800 for it. sold. the bikes immaculate. no pitting. no rust. all original everything with just under 100 miles on it. including the original factory tires. the only thing bad is the plastic side covers are so old, they crack and the all the rubber parts are crumbling from age. in anycase, enthusiast on the street offer him 3k for it regularly.

so the class theme was "products on wheels" as long as the wheel was a big part of it, we could do it. we do research, we learn about our market, see if there is one, we address the problems, we design for them and we style the products to suit the user needs and at the end of the term, we build the products to a scale or full size, whatevers reasonable and we have to present the products and ourselves as if we were marketing the product to a live board of executives to see if my product is profitable.

so we got two people doing rollerblades, two doing baby strollers, one guy with a golf trolley, on person with a creeper, and two people doing bicycles. we also had a girl named katie doing a travel bag but i decided not to take a picture cause her project was simply horrid. Frido, our teacher hacked her into emotional pieces for it too so, yea.

Parts printed from FDM, Plaster, Polyjet HD, Primered with Duplicolor, Painted with Tamiya, then some pieces were clear coated with the UR40 based automotive clear coat. Seat is covered in fabric from a walmart sweater. The Chromatech lettering was done at this small corner shop across the street from whole foods. forgot the name but it wasnt cheap. The base and the clear man was made of 1/4th inch laser cut acrylic and the lettering on it is just tamiya acrylic which was used as a filler in a raster cut on the base.

all in all, the project costed just under 1k. was it worth it? meh.

but in proportion to what the other guys spent, i did all right. Simon Davey, the other guy in class who did a bike was in about 600, Stephan, the guy you see doing the creeper is in about 800 and the most expensive is nelson, the one with the opaque, clothing rack, he got his done in SLS print for 2k.

file errors no longer allow me to open in hypershot so i have to open the files through hyperdrive which doesnt support my colors so i save it from there as a bunkspeed file and then open it in hypershot. its fucked. i tried rendering in solid works but its much slower, harder and less satisfying. it also crashes a shit ton.

marcus and I went to the Irwindale swapmeet this morning, saw this old 1970 cl350 we thought was worth a try and decided to haggle the guy. long story short, marcus got the bike for 300 so long as i bought these cragar rims for 50 bucks. 14 by 7 inch rims. i was getting sick of my "gaudy" ones anyway.

the bike draws inspiration from airplane sub structures, bridges, and industrial materials, the brand name "strategic" is drawn from the fact that this bike is ment mainly to be a tactical tool to get you from point A to point B as conveniently, and quickly as possible; like a commercial airplane would. cars need a place to park, bike need a person to run them and neither fit in a subway tunnel. the whole point of this bike is to connect that disconnect between the bicycle and car and then compound upon the benefits of both, what I like to call parasitic mobility; where one smaller means of transportation can be made compact enough to latch onto a much larger, well-established means of transportation (i.e. subways & buses) to further its range.

more on this later. the bike still needs finishing.

with 4 weeks left, i dont have the luxury of building this full scale. gonna try to build a half scale model. 3ft in length. the teach is laggin on us and wont finalize my designs. i agree, not the best but i got 4 weeks left so i just went ahead and made the wheels. cant go wrong on that. the wheels still have tweaking to do but this is what i got after 14 hours.

heres my new frame. its much more aggressive with smaller wheels and a longer wheelbase. the frame is much more slender than before and is sloped further to make it directional. i cant offload weight to the front end becuase it wouldnt make sense when it folds so i opted to widen the front forks and "point" the frame foward. to lessen the whole industrial look everyones been complanin about, i made the truss treatment much more abstract and i gave the seat a bit of an organic element which is also functional really cause you could slip and nut yourself on the frame. ill post a rendering once im done with it.

First, be smart from the very beginning. Pulverize all teeth, burn off fingerprints, and disfigure the face. Forcing a DNA test to establish identity (if it ever comes to that) might introduce the legal/forensic hurdle that saves your ass down the line. An unidentifiable body can, in a pinch, be dressed in thrift store clothes and dropped in a bad part of town where the police are less likely to question it. I don't recommend that disposal method, I'm just saying an easily identifiable body is an even bigger threat than the opposite.

Assuming you have it inside a house where you can work on it a bit, the first thing you want to do is drain it of fluids. This will make it easier to cut up, and slow decomposition a little bit. The best way to do this quick and dirty is to perforate the body with a pointed knife, and then perform CPR on it. Cut the fronts of the thighs deep, diagonally, to slit the femoral arteries. Then pump the chest. The valves in the heart will still work when dead, and the spring back of the ribcage can put apply a fair amount of suction to the atria. Do this in a tub. Plug the drain, and mingle lots of bleach with the bodily fluids before unplugging the drain to empty the tub. This should help control the stench of death, which would otherwise reek from your gutter gratings. Do everything you can to control odors. Plug in an ionizer, burn candles, leave bowls of baking soda everywhere. Ventilate the room in the middle of the night, but otherwise keep it closed. Keep the body under a plastic sheet while it's in the tub.

If you want to bury, I recommend separating the body into several parts, and burying them separately. For one thing, it's easier to dig a deep enough hole for a head than for an entire body. this reduces your chances of being discovered while you are actually outside and digging the grave.

That is the one thing you can't do inside the doors of your house, and represents a vulnerable moment you want to keep brief, under 2 hours. Do it between 3 and 5 am. It's also less likely for someone to call the police if their dog digs up some chunk of meat, than if they dig up an entire body. They may assume it's an animal carcass disfigured by decomposition, and leave it alone or dispose of it. It's also more likely that the dog will consume all of it before anyone knows the difference. A whole skeleton is another story. You can cut a body into 6 pieces faster than you think. It's not much different than boning a chicken, but it takes more work, a big knife, and time. A hammer will be useful for pulverizing joints or driving the knife deep where it doesn't want to go. Anyway it's wise to crush as much of the skeleton as you can along the way. It will aid in making the body less identifiable for what it is as it decomposes.

Don't return to the same site 6 times for 6 burials.You'll attract suspicion from anyone nearby, and you'll wind up placing the body parts close enough together to be found by any serious investigation. Put them in plastic bags with lots of bleach, and store in a freezer until you have enough time to bury them all.

Depending on what tools you have available, you may find that you're get really good at deconstructing the body. You might prefer to slowly sprinkle it down a drain without leaving your house. This avoids the long-term risk of discovery associated with burial, and the overwhelming supply of bacteria in a sewer accelerates decomposition, while providing a convenient cover smell.

Truly grinding down a body takes a lot more work, and you run the risk of fouling your plumbing and calling in a plumber. So don't try it unless you know how to clear bones and meat out of a drainpipe. A good food processor can be useful. But don't over-use it, or power drills or saws. They're noisy and they attract attention. And forget the kitchen sink. It's better if you actually remove one of the toilets in your house from its base, which will give you direct access to one of the largest sewer pipes that enters your house. Follow any disposals with lots of bleach and then run the water for 5 or 10 minutes on top of that. And plug that pipe when you're not using it, to prevent any sewer gasses from backing up into your house. Usually, a U-trap inside the toilet does that for you.

its all i can think of for this design: "meh"

its static, its heavy and i cant possibly see this as being anything more than designer art that sits in your house without use. but this is all i got for now.

this project is like 17 products rolled into one. i gotta design a handle bar, a frame, sprocket, an engine the list just goes on and one. this was a mistake. i shoulda just done a baby stroller or rollerblades like the other kids.

ive got pockets of brilliant inspiration here and there; folding handlebars... ratchet adjustable seats, cargo mounting system, belt drives and automatic gears but nothing cohesive and centered enough to bring it all together as something good.

whilst eveyone is dropping some serious green on this project, i decided to try to stay under a hundred bucks and make a quirky cute lil thing that will get me an A and i wont give a fuck about when it breaks.

i present to you the dodo.

-to save weight, the entire thing is a truss frame
-super light also means im not gonna have to buy a new brushless motor.
-really simple and minimal components, means light and less shit to go wrong.
-propeller driven. no drive shafts. no torque converters. no transmission. no gears. just propeller
-one wheel to steer. two components.
-i beleive its about 8 cubic inches of fdm material. means im not wasting my time in the model shop trying to save money using other materials, means this shit is done and over with in 1 week, and at worst, only 80 bucks. the cheapest solid modeling final ever.

marcus and i parked our bikes at the sinclair pavilion and when we decided to leave, the light coming from the vending machine and the light coming from the lanterns lit up the bikes for the most epic spur-of-the-moment photoshoot ever.

+ notice the chrome front fender and the horn? and i bought cafe bars for 15 bucks in newport beach today. as you can see, ive installed them on my bike as well as the tach i got from ebay. the speedo wouldnt fit so i think ill just give it to marcus. his speedos broke. unless jimmy wants it. lemme know.

jimmy and I decided to go ahead and wrap our headers today. let me tell you something about exhaust wrap; This shit is fiberglass. i did not know that. i did not realize that until the sunlight struck the air in front of me while i was wrapping and i saw all the tiny twinkles of fiberglass floating in the air, embedding themselves in my skin. If i had to guess, id suppose this is what having syphilis feels like. it fucking itches.

on the other hand, im pretty satisfied at how it all turned out. jimmys looks better cause he got that graphite wrap and i got the el cheapo 15 dollar white wrap.
darcys evolved pretty nicely since the last pic. jimmy decided he wants the cafe seat on it, the rear tailights were mounted, and we cut and bolted the MC offset pipes finally. no pipes look cooler than cl350 pipes.

together with the velocity stacks, darcy is starting to look the look.
